Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best credit card I've found for travel, especially for Ireland.
If renting a car, you will end up paying for insurance that costs almost the same as the rental price for the car, unless your credit card covers the insurance for Ireland. Call your company to verify. Most cards to not specifically cover Ireland due to narrow, winding roads. Chase Sapphire Preferred covers insurance for car rental. You will likely need Chase to email you a letter to take to the car rental counter to prove you do not need to buy extra insurance. Other benefits include travel points, etc.
