Huntington Beach is also known as "Surf City." Walk Main Street with tattooed locals for beachwear shopping between cocktails. Note the surfer walk of fame closer to the pier.
43rd Street is a great spot for body surfing and admiring beach houses. Go to the Links & Downloads section on this page for renting a beach house of your own!
There's nothing better than a loaf of fresh bread from The Crab Cooker (ask for melted butter), a root bear, and some Manhattan (red broth) Clam Chowder while sitting outside on the bench enjoying the sun. Be sure to write on a postcard (sitting in the window) and then put it in the mailbox.
Grab a schooner of your favorite beer or cider and a seat near the window at Mutt Lynch's for some good people watching on the promenade.
Some of the world's best shopping is done at Fashion Island.
Everyone's kid at Balboa Fun Zone. There's an arcade, ferris wheel and more!
Make your way to the end of the Balboa Peninsula to watch body surfers at The Wedge. What makes it so famous? The angle of land and jetty cause the large waves to break at the shoreline. Only the most experienced take on The Wedge.
After watching the big Wedge waves, take the small car ferry to charming Balboa Island for a chocolate covered frozen banana (Dad's or Sugar 'n Spice) and some boutique shopping.
Corona & Corona del Mar
Home to a couple of nice beaches and cliff top homes.
The San Clemente bowl at the pier is a perfect place to relax, hop on a hiking trail, swing your kids on the beach swing set and watch the Coaster train go by. And, the sunset never disappoints!
This is a great area to rent a condo so that you are close to Orange County and San Diego.
